Of the two City of Mandurah library branches, Falcon is by far the number one choice. It is not the service is better, or the range of books or resources. It is the atmosphere. Quiet and space. Abounding with space there are places for casual reading or for those researching or working there are a number of tables along the southern side of the building. Rather more than just a library, there are other rooms adjoining the library proper that are available for community hire and use. The staff as a whole are very helpful and approachable. The one weakness would be the newspaper collection. Although newspapers are placed in a purpose room with racks and reading tables, some patrons, generally the same persons freely take the newspapers to other locations and they can be very hard at times to locate when you need them. The library staff needs to implement and enforce a policy of banning patrons from removing newspapers, as other patrons should not be resposible for tracking down and having to ask if they can be returned in order to read them. Once I had to track down someone who had all the day's main newspapers to themselves in a far and distant corner of the vast library land, complete with coffee flask, cup and other victuals. Those precious news sheets did not seem likely to return anytime soon.....
Great atmosphere with awesome resources and wonderul staff to help you out.

Plenty of places to chill out and read
Awesome local library, usually very quite and uncrowded.
