Great Gluten Free food and healthy options. Good service and nice view of the water. A favourite place of ours.

Best Thai food in Barrie...you can't compare Thai spice to Indian spice. This place does it right. For anyone who knows their Thai food, this is the place to get it. If you aren't familiar with the menu items, lean on the owner operators...they are great people, joy to talk to and full of knowledge. Have never had a bad meal there...and I've eaten at many Thai restaurants in Canada, US and Europe. This is the best. Try any of their curries, basil chicken, cashew chicken, pad Thai....all are great. If my wife would let me, I'd eat there every day.

Chaopaya Thai is located in what appears to be an older historic home on Dunlop Street in Barrie. My visit on a beautiful day in July had us sitting on the lovely patio, enjoying the weather and a slight breeze off Kempenfelt Bay. The service was delightful. They are very attentive to their diners' needs, especially when it comes to keeping the patio guests hydrated on a very hot day. The calamari and spring rolls that we ordered as starters were fantastic. They were well cooked, nice and crispy, and the dipping sauce was very flavourful. I ordered the Emerald Chicken Curry as my main - it was not as spicy or full-flavoured as I had expected it to be, but it was quite good and filling nonetheless. My only desire would been if it had a stronger taste, as the flavours seemed somewhat muted. Overall, my experience was great at this restaurant, and I would very likely visit again on my next trip to Barrie.

By far the best Thai restaurant in Barrie. My wife and I travel from Innisfil for this food and have never been disappointed.
