We used this company to redo our upstairs bathroom, install wood floors in one of the bedrooms, and fix drywall on the kitchen ceiling. We currently live as tenants in the house, and our landlord was paying for these renovations so we did not have any say on the contractor of choice.
Cameron and his crew would show up whenever they pleased. They sometimes notify either us (the tenants) or our landlord they were coming, but most times would show up unannounced. Sometimes they would show up at 8am, other times they would show up at 2 pm, and some days they would not show up at all. Cameron’s favorite line is: “It will be finished tomorrow.” He has now said that five days in a row and we are still waiting on the drywall in the kitchen to be replaced. Upon calling him to see when his men were coming that day (since he promised they would come on Tuesday), he got angry with me and hung up the phone. The level of unprofessionalism that this company demonstrates is truly unbelievable.
After the bathroom renovation, the company decided to not clean up after themselves. The bathroom is on the 3rd floor, and there is a trail of drywall and dust throughout the entire house. After repainting and installing hardwood floors in the new room, the floor people scuffed up the newly painted walls. The paint that this company uses is very low quality since it has been less than a week and the bathroom and bedroom paint is already peeling.
Sometimes, Cameron’s father just pops into the house also unannounced. He came over last week on Wednesday and told us that the drywall in the kitchen would be finished that day. However, 6 pm rolled around, and the father and the crew had all left, with no mention that the drywall would be fixed another day. When the father came back on Friday (drywall still not fixed) he became agitated with me since I was questioning why the drywall was not done. His first excuse was that people were sitting at the kitchen table so they didn’t want to disturb us (no one had asked us to move), but later he changed his story and told us that the crew must have been tired so needed to go home (the crew had arrived at 2:30 pm that day and left at 6 – total of 4 hour work day). After that excuse, his next one was that the crew was really busy with other houses (apparently our house is not a top priority). But, on Friday afternoon, before the father left, he again promised us that the drywall would be finished on Saturday.
Now, I sit here on Tuesday afternoon, with no drywall fixed, house strewn with drywall, dust, and peeling paint and no idea when it will be fixed. I cannot say the bathroom and floors do not look nice, they do. However, the degree of unprofessionalism that Cameron exhibits is the sole reason why I would never recommend this company to anyone.
