Absolutely terrible service, wine list was hand written on loose leaf paper, vegetables were frozen from a bag, nothing had taste at all. You can get better, fresh food from Barrachina for 1/4 the price with incredible service. You are only paying for the atmosphere, unless you're into overpriced basic meals with no taste than this is the place for you.
If I could give zero stars I would. It's a shame the only appeal is the historic appeal.

Went for special dinner, nice atmosphere. If really oldest place, they should advertise that
Willa love Rio learn some history willed in they're..even if just on menu.
The low stars are for the food. Although not burnt...disappointed on quality. Dry monfrongo, wine was very bitter...didn't get to taste before...how long was it sitting there opened?
Flank steak was taste less. We should have listened to the parking garage when he said everyone comes back disappointed.
I hope they read this to improve, then we will be back.

Seems to have changed ownership, as last years mofongo was much better than it is now.

Really old school set up...given we're in old San Juan, of course. The service ain't the quickest, but they're friendly and always smiling...and they'll serve you a shot of 151 for breakfast if you ask for it. Try the Western Omelette.

This place is definitely a must go being that it's the oldest restaurant on the Western Hemisphere. It was quiet and very exclusive
