USAG Fort Buchanan

Welcome to USAG Fort Buchanan Puerto Rico Fort Buchanan Leadership Fort Buchanan El Morro Magazine > IMPORTANCE NOTICE / AVISO IMPORTANTE Letter from Fort Buchanan Garrison Commander To Our Puerto Rico Familia, saludos! On behalf of our dedicated Fort Buchanan military and civilian workforce and their families, I hope that you and your family are recovering well and staying safe as we rebuild our homes, our neighborhoods, and our communities. Fort Buchanan is honored to be part of Puerto Rico's recovery efforts, serving as the center of gravity for military operations in support of our local and federal governments Together with our partners, which include the U.S. Military Active Duty and Reserve Forces, Puerto Rico National Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Homeland Security, and FEMA, Fort Buchanan is projecting hope and progress with much needed equipment and supplies throughout the island. We've assisted our partners in the deployment of convoys carrying generators and fuel for hospitals, schools and shelters; technicians to repair critical communications and utilities infrastructure; and Service Members that are clearing roads and providing critical supplies to our neighbors with the greatest needs. As Fort Buchanan focuses on its primary mission - to provide support to our military forces operating in the Caribbean - our staff has also dedicated resources to recovering our own infrastructure so that we are able to provide safe and first-class services to our Fort Buchanan community. During this time, access to Fort Buchanan has been limited in order to optimize our support to operational missions, and maximize the safety of our workforce, service members, and their families. I want to personally assure you that our Team is working diligently to develop a plan that allows Fort Buchanan to restore services and increase access to the installation. Our plan will ensure that we return to normal operations in the safest way possible so that our Military Services Members, esteemed Military Retirees and Veterans, and their Families, can once again enjoy Your Installation! We hope to publish our plan shortly. Our Fort Buchanan Familia greatly appreciates your patience and support during this challenging time of recovery. We look forward to seeing each one of You very soon, and I am confident that Together we will rebuild Puerto Rico to once again shine as 'La Isla Del Encanto'....resilient and stronger than ever!   Sincerely,   COL Guy D.
