TLDR: DON NOT RENT A CAR WITH ISLAND CAR RENTAL. I was very excited to rent a Jeep on Vieques, so I booked one well in advance of our trip. I had a confirmation number, email, and I had called myself to confirm my reservation. Once I got to Vieques I rented snorkeling gear, and was looking forward to driving to all the beaches and reefs around Vieques. Unfortunately once I got to Island Rental Car at Hotel W they refused to honor my booking. When I asked why the clerk mumbled something about the terms and conditions. I asked him to show me where and he could not point it out. I asked to speak with a manager, and he refused that as well. I then called their main number and hoped that they could sort out my issue, only to be told they would not be renting me a car that day. I am very disappointed in Island Car Rental, since we had to take taxis to where ever we wanted to go on Vieques. I strongly urge you to exhaust all other car rental options on Vieques, before you even consider renting a car with Island Car Rental.

Good clean jeep. Worked nicely. Reserved it online for $85 per day for 3 days. They picked up & dropped us off from the airport - a few minute ride & they were prompt. The only thing I did not like is that they timed the rental from the time of the reservation, not the time we actually got the car.

A previous client had decided to keep his car longer, so they didn't have one for us when we arrived at noon. They picked us up at the airport and got us to our hotel, with a promise that they would call us at 3PM with a car. Instead of just telling us what was going on, they jerked us around for several hours (Called them at 4PM, "Your car is ready, we are coming to get you." Called again at 5PM, "Someone is on the way") and we didn't actually have a car until almost 7PM. Not a great rental experience. Driving a jeep around narrow Vieques streets was sometimes harrowing, but it was necessary to visit some of the more remote beaches.

Worst buisness in Puerto Rico. Unprofessional, lazy, incompetent employees (if you can find one). Always over-booking and telling you they have no car for you even though you have an online comfimation and you are 1500 miles from home and are depending on it. They could care less. This place is racist against white people. Stay away unless you are dark skinned.
