Jose was the dive instructor who took me on my first open water ocean dive in I997. Twenty years later I came back to dive with him in February 2017. He and his wife Karen are still the same very accommodating and service oriented business owners they have always been. We dove 2 days off of Paguera and Mayaguez. Diving with Jose was like diving with an old friend. He coordinated charter boats for us, he dove with us, and he even took video that he later edited and posted to YouTube for us to enjoy. My dive shop of choice when diving Puerto Rico is Aquatica.

I had an awesome time getting my open water certification with my instructor Reinier! I learned A LOT over our three days of dives. we saw all sorts of sea life and had a lot of fun. Reinier was very friendly and knowledgeable, and as an added bonus he taught me some spanish. I had a great experience and I will be going back to Aquatica dive and surf next time I am in Puerto Rico.

I contacted Acuática to rent scuba gear as part of a scuba trip on a 3 day vacation in Puerto Rico, lucky us Jose was to join the same dive as he had coordinated a tour as well.
Even we were not part of his group, he made us feel part of it and provided my 14 year daughter and I great help, support and comfort making our dive an awesome experience, he was very professional and took time to explain things before and after the dive with no other intentions, other that facilitate his years of experience to enhance our experience. Definitely I recommend no other place when it comes to scuba in the west coast in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Acuatica offers great inventory not only as rental but they have a good inventory to suit your needs and good prices!

Jose was my instructor when I got certified back in the late 1980's soon after he set up shop in Aquatica. I recently became a scuba instructor and when I teach my students I find myself channeling Jose and his awesome teaching style. What a great experience.

Great experience with this dive shop. They were very nice people and very honest and trustworthy. We were disappointed that the conditions weren't great for diving while we were there, but thankful Jose was honest with us about it. Since the diving conditions weren't great, they offered us a stand up paddle boarding tour along a river, which we decided to do. It turned out to be really fun. I wasn't able to balance well while standing up, but I completed the tour paddling on my knees and it worked out great. Midway through, we stopped and took a short walk to an old train tunnel where Jose pointed out some bats. Then we got back on our boards and went back down the river. No current at all, so it was easy for a beginner. And Jose was very patient and kept coming back to check on me since I was a slow poke. This shop was not pushy AT ALL, which was nice, since we did encounter another local dive shop that was a bit pushy.
