7/30/17 I call the Salon yesterday to get a quote on a few hairstyles. I spoke with the Owner Fatima who was very helpful. She asked me to send her a pic so she could make sure she would quote me a right price. She didn't have the color I wanted because it's rare, so she said when I arrive she would have someone go with me to the beauty supply store across the street to assist.me. When I arrived she did exactly that & I didn't have to wait. The stylist Solomon who assisted me was extremely professional & hair braiding skills were impeccable!! I wanted a certain cut and when she finished, Fatima came over to cut the style I wanted. I ❤️ It!! I would definitely recommend this Salon to anyone who's looking for a protective style! Fatima and her team are the ones to call, you won't be disappointed!

I have been going to Sunu hair salon for over 6 years. First it was to get my hair braided then started locs, and getting hair color. I have always had my hair done by Fatima who is the owner of the salon and my experience from the very first time I started going there has been fabulous. She is very knowledgeable about hair and able to do any hair style and is extremely neat. Sunu hair salon is at a great location in Sandy Springs , is very clean and all the ladies are all professional and extremely friendly. I would not have another person do my hair. I am happy with Fatima. So l urge you to go there and check her out, you won't regret it.

Just got my hair styled at this vendor in medium box braids. Initially,I was going to wait to do a review, however after seeing the other reviews and realizing their price switching is common practice, I felt like I needed to make others aware. I called before hand, describing the style I wanted, as well as the length. When I got into the store I showed several pictures of the size of the braids I wanted, the fact that I wanted my boxes in rows, as well as clearly conveying the length. My price ($170) was then repeated, and written beside my name on the sign in sheet. No changes were made to the style, or the length that was requested. However, once my hair was completed at the register, my card was swiped for $205 without notice. When I saw this I told the stylist that my quote was for $170, pointing to the sign-in paper that clearly stated $170. The stylist then took the book, scribbled out the $170, and wrote $205 over it... refusing to cancel the unapproved transaction on my card. I can't speak to the ability of the Braiders, because my hair was just done... However, I'm very disappointed in what appears to be intentionally dishonest behavior. Update:Today, (the next day) while attempting to style my hair I realized that while the braids in the front are neat medium sized boxes, the parts in the back are three times the size of the parts in the front. Please see my posted photos, this was far from a positive experience. The quality is just not here. I will update as to whether the salon makes any effort to make this right. I requested the owner regarding the price discrepancy, she was not in. After seeing the back of my hair, I have since called and left a message regarding the quality of the work.

I am so disappointed in this business, especially since I've been going to them for 3 years, and I always try to support Black owned businesses. I can honestly say that they have made a profit of about a 1000 dollars or maybe even more in the past three years from just me alone. I have even recommended other people to them, helping them get more clientele, because I actually believed in their business. I never take the time to write a review, however I feel very slighted and disrespected on the highest level. Earlier this month, I paid $250 for the faux or goddess locks (whatever your preference), and I tipped both stylists even though the process was so gruesome from all the pain. The locks came out within the same week, and I had to return twice within that same time frame. I was firm, but still respectful when I stressed to them about returning my money. One of the stylist even suggested it, and called the manager to confirm. The manager refused, and the only option they offered was fixing some of the locks. I felt that was pointless, because obviously their technique was not working. So I told them to take it down, then I reported them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Just recently, the BBB contacted me, and the salon lied to the BBB saying that they offered to put in another hairstyle which they did not!!!! ( I probably would have taken that option). They told them as well that they did not do refunds. If that is the case, why would one of your VETERAN stylists bring it up, and then call the manager to just confirm????!!! I would think she would not have even bothered to waste time doing all of that to just be denied. This whole experience was childish and pathetic. Their greed is truly disgusting, and I honestly felt cheated. They lost a very loyal customer, and lately I've been hearing other complaints from people about this salon. Absolutely unprofessional and so classless!!!!!!
