I don't know who says it's a 45 acre zoo. It seems more like 20 acres. It's pretty small and a lot of the animals seem like they don't have enough space. Maybe they can also use the unseen 20 acres to give the animals more space. It doesn't seem like there was much effort to make the space more natural to them (like the shortage of vegetation). The animals looked bored and depressed. There was a lack of intellectual stimulation. The bear enclosure was set up so the bear could only walk on rocks and some of the bird cages didn't have much space either. Quite a few empty enclosures. The butterfly exhibit was nice but the insect exhibit was really dark and some areas smelt musty. Also, the bathrooms didn't even have paper towels. I hope someone of importance reads this and can put more love into this zoo. It seems like it needs more people working there who have a real passion for animals.

Great experience! A lot better than I expected and also the entrance fee has been lowered to 16 bucks for adults. Guides are very kind. You need 3 hours to experience it fully. A must do!

We enjoyed our visit! I've read some negative reviews before we got there but I couldn't really understand that. The zoo was well planned, in a quite good shape and they had a lot to show. The kids learned a lot and really liked it! :) The only negative thing was that they didn't have any kind of restaurant or Cafe to buy food (at least this time of year).

One of the best zoos I have visited, on par with San Francisco or the Bronx. You can tell the buildings are a bit dated, but the habitats are nice and animals appear well cared for.
