We called an Uber to take us to a bar, and she asked what we were looking to do. We said go to a fun bar. She said, if you want to experience a true Puerto Rican party you MUST visit La Placita. She was right! No experience like it, the drinks are cheap and plentiful. A few places have tables to sit and some serve food all night. Different stands to get cigars, etc. and a beautiful mix of people. Unbelievable experience and a MUST if you visit San Juan on the weekend

Awesome party in the streets on Friday nights. Some dancing. Lots of drinking. A few live salsa venues. Pretty good food around.

Great place to hang out with the locals. Not expensive at all. If you plan to eat at a restaurant, you'll have to make a reservation. Drinks are very cheap and a great place to experience the Puerto Rican atmosphere.
