HAH Richard from Chatswood and Greg from North Sydney are fantastic I would highly recommend both as they are innovative and very knowledgeable and go out of their way to ensure the customer is happy and look for ways to do hard tasks without giving up. 5 stars from me!

We use Hire A Hubby for all of our commercial minor repairs and have had nothing but diligent and helpful service. Great guys from the Darlinghurst crew!

Came on referral from someone very trustworthy, but the chap he referred me to had gone, referred on from person who had gone. BE VERY CAREFUL, you must check to ensure that what they are going to do they are actually qualified to do. The man to whom I was referred said he was master carpenter, lucky for me he arrived to do the work with another man who was a master builder in the past who actually did most, if not all of the work. The supposedly qualified carpenter actually only drove nails into wood, think that was the extent of his abilities. Very nice people, but very expensive, and especially when you do not get what you asked for to begin with.

Found hire a hubby to be untruthful. They ordered the wrong decking size. I told them and they said wider decking that I wanted was much more expensive. I looked into it and found it was the same cost. I confronted them and they eventually admitted that they had accidentally under quoted initially and they were trying to lie about the additional cost to get more money from me which is clearly untrue. I kicked them off the job. They then charged me for the delivery charges from them ordering the wrong decking. Seriously this mob are an absolute joke. AVOID HIRE A HUBBY AND RAY VENN BROWN LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Looks like a lot of mixed reviews, so seems it comes down to who you get. We used Hire a hubby and dealt with Richard Tyson around the Chatswood area. Somebody smashed into our fence so this was an insurance job. Having got 3 guys to come out and quote, Richard was the only one of the 3 who bothered to take measurements, etc. One guy didn't even bother quoting once he found out it was an insurance job but he seemed a bit dodgy anyway. HAH came in at half the price of the other contractor and that's the one the insurance guys took. Richard ended up being the one to do our actual fence repair and I have nothing but good things to say. He took pride in his work, was thorough and knowledgeable. The job turned out to be a bit bigger than he anticipated as well once he got stuck into it but he honoured the quote even though it took him about twice as long to do than anticipated due to the challenges. At the end of the day you can tell the guys that love their work from the ones who just want money. Richard definitely sits in that first category. We now have a lovely replacement fence. He never batted an eyelid on any of the curve balls that came up and worked with us on little requests we had while the job progressed. At the end, he cleaned up everything after he was done and helped us install our replacement letterbox even though it technically wasn't covered under the quote. I have no hesitation in recommending him and would hire him again in a heartbeat.
