I absolutely LOVE this place.!! They are soooo busy, so u can understand why the waitress is a little short, plus her english isn't the best, so she must find it hard. But because they're so busy, the food is always super fresh, (no old rice sitting around here), & the dishes are excellent, really yummy, (special fried rice w beef strips are to die for,) an excellent generous portion size, & all at prices that are simply unbeatable.!! So who cares if a waitress is a little short if you're getting all this. The place is IDEAL for take-away, so I definitely recommend giving it a try.!!☺💜

They need to sort out their ordering system at the front cashier. Half the time takeaway orders are missing...or they call out for people...and ask them whether they had ordered...paying for your food is a mess too...don't expect a quick dine as you will likely get caught up in the confused and frustrated line of people just waiting painstakingly to pay. Food is overly peppery and is hard to enjoy.

Had to give one star otherwise - stars...chicken fried noodles are full of salt, oil and schezwan peppers. ...never going back

Caulfield Chinese Restaurant is one of the longest and oldest restaurants around Monash University. The place situated just in front of the Caulfield Station and next to Monash University. The restaurant looks old from outside and not bright inside. The table wasn't cleaned properly as it's very oily and smell funny. Customer staff wasn't friendly and polite; Poor customer service. Self service for water, tea and chili oil; We had: - Special Fried Rice for $8.80. The taste of special fried rice was not bad and served in generous portion. We reckoned the fried rice was very oily **it's tasty but consider your health concern when you want to order this. - Fish Fillet in hot oil set for $11.80. The fist fillet was served in generous portion as well and the fish was soft and tender. Again, it was too tasty and salty; I reckoned they're using too much flavour enhancer. We felt thirsty and couldn't stop drinking water after having this dish. Overall, the taste of their food was alright, poor service. Surely, this restaurants is one of the favourite places for students as they offer reasonable price for a large portion of dish. Taste: 3.0 Speed: 4.0 Service: 1.5 Price: 3.0 Yay: reasonable price, generous portion. Nay: Very oily, too much flavour enhancer, poor service.
