Scones tasted nice but were really expensive (Charged $6.25 each scone). Slow service on a quite day. Waited 20 mins + for coffees to find out the staff had completely forgotten about our order.

We visited the General Cafe for lunch, enjoying the pretty interior and very friendly, knowledgeable service. We sat inside due to the heat of the day, however there was charming veranda at the back, which I'd like to try next time. I had the black rice porridge, which may seem like a strange choice for lunch, but let me tell you it was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a very long time! My dining companion had the bacon & egg roll which he described as divine, with very fresh, quality ingredients. We both had the beetroot kombuca which was a little dry for my taste, but still very good for the tummy 🙂 We are both really looking forward to returning. Highly recommend a visit.

Fresh, local and well thought out food. Okay ingredients were fantastic. The bread was very high-quality. I had black rice pudding for breakfast. I was very dubious but it was delicious. It had coconut cream, bananas, black glass clean, and salted nuts. It all went together beautifully. My husband had sausage and eggs and toast and everything was cooked perfectly. Our coffees and tea came quickly. Friendly service.

What a pleasant surprise this place is. Incredibly friendly welcome followed by one of the best and most creative breakfast menus we've seen. It is well worth a visit! Brilliant.

Delicious modern food, accommodating chef (vegan friendly), and truly outstanding service. Every now and then you go out for a meal and really can't find fault. This was one of those times.
