Chiltern Bakery & Cafe

Excellent food and coffee will definitely go back we were staying in beechworth this bakery by far is better than the beechworth bakery when it comes to the quality of food and coffee

Haven't been there for awhile but on the occasions I have been, the service was so damned friendly, nothing was too much trouble, very clean cafe and food quality was perfect and most importantly, fresh! Hope when I return, all this is still true.

We left the highway because we thought there was a service centre. There wasn't but glad we found Chiltern. It's a lovely old town. All the buildings are heritage looking. We stopped at the bakery for morning tea. Lot's of lovely sweet choices and the beesting was really good. For savoury choices there are pies, quiches, sausage rolls and bacon and egg rolls ( very tasty). Also sandwiches. They have the usual coffee, tea, milkshakes and a few fridges of other choices. You can also buy the usual bakery offerings of bread, rolls, cinnamon buns etc. Spacious inside with fireplace for Winter. Nice decor. Very clean. No toilets though. Parking is easy, even for caravans. Only a short distance off the highway.

what a little gem! the town is cute you must explore. i had the best scrambled eggs on amazing bread with this fantastic onion jam! i bought a jar! thr picolo was bloidy good too. better than some city cafes! its a must visit for me. in a coffee snob too. great service :)

Don't know who gave this 4 snf 5 stars. Pastie full of mush like baby food, vanilla slice old and stale, coffee tasted like warm milk. Staff gruff.
