The staff were pleasant and service efficient, coffee was fine, passionfruit bombe delicious however their signature lemon meringue pie was stale and the meringue like leather. The reason for my visit was the lemon meringue but I am now crossing Shingle Inn off my list. This is the second shop I have encounted the stale meringue. I appreciate the shop can't afford to waste food but if it's past the use by date advise the customer and sell it for half price. Disappointing! !!!

Food was very disappointing, the fish in their fish and chips was dry and barely would call it fish and chips with 3 little pieces of dried batter. Their chicken parmigiana was also dry it's not topped with Napoli sauce.. it's just tomato sauce and barely any of it , it's not topped bacon as advertised on the menu its ham and it was cold and very chewy. Have had better parmigiana that was bigger and less pricey.

Worst watered down strawberry milkshake ever. Took too long to clear the table so we could sit. Menus, table and floor dirty .

My meal was supposed to be grilled chicken bacon and avocado with salad with mayo and beetroot and red onion dressing. It came without the avocado bacon or mayo. I wasn’t impressed. The chicken was a few tiny slices which wouldn’t have amounted to even a quarter of a breast of chicken.

I waited ... and waited... people who were behind me in line were served food and drinks.... while I waited... the cake was moist but underwhelming... the coffee wasn't great. Worst of all... no apologies... no acknowledgement. Won't be back.
