Starbucks

About the business

Starbucks Corporation is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain. Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1971. As of early 2019, the company operates over 30,000 locations worldwide.

History

The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, on March 31, 1971, by three partners who met while they were students at the University of San Francisco: English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegl, and writer Gordon Bowker were inspired to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment by coffee roasting entrepreneur Alfred Peet after he taught them his style of roasting beans.

Coffee is not great. Often tastes burnt, too much water or too bitter. They are unable to make a traditional flat white but once I was able to talk them through it and it was pretty good considering their machine can't do ristretto shots so it has to be done manually using espresso shots. Most drinks on the menu are loaded with sugar which I find so surprising in this day and age. Even their US stores have more offerings on the healthy side. It's a nice enough environment but I have to ask them to wipe down the tables as they are often dirty and sticky. My mum loves the place so I take her often when she is in hospital and it lifts her spirits. Most staff are really good and try to go the extra mile.

Terrible. Just awful. Sticky, tacky floors. And the overpowering stench of various foods and coffee, smells like it came out of a can.

The worst coffee option at the PA Hospital. Food isn't bad though

My 4 yr old niece makes better mud cakes than the stale cake they serve. They must get thier coffee grounds from a another cafés waste bin.
